I was recommended using the TENS machine during antenatal classes, and after 13hours of steadily increasing the frequency level to help me breathing through my contractions I was not happy to be told that I’d have to give up my Labour TENS machine as I was about to have an emergency caesarean. The midwife wanted to take the electrodes off my back with half an hour to wait until I was given a spinal block! This, of course, was not going to happen, and I refused to let them take the pads off until the spinal block was ready to be administered. It was great to have had the Labour TENS machine all the way through labour, with contractions up to 2minutes apart – I loved the booster!!
