A common question for women who have purchased a Labour TENS and wish to use it after labour. Yes you can use the Labour TENS to treat other injuries / area's of pain. The Labour TENS is supplied preset with two modes, Rest and Boost mode and cannot be changed. You can choose either of these two modes depending on what gives the best relief. Typically the boost mode would be selected (via the hand held boost button). You can also buy smaller electrodes for the Labour TENS which suit smaller physical area's such as knee's and elbows. The labour TENS comes standard with larger 50x90mm electrodes for greater comfort during labour whilst general purpose / rehab type TENS are usually supplied with smaller 50x50mm electrodes. If you are going to use a TENS on a regular basis for general or rehabilitation purposes then you may want to upgrade to a NeuroTrac (NT3) TENS or the NeuroTrac Rehab TENS. Both of these TENS have many more preset and user programmable programmes. They however are not ideal for use during labour as you are not able to quickly and easily change between two modes (ie rest and boost) such as you can with the Labour TENS. When you change between programmes on the NT3 and Rehab TENS the output is reset back to zero and the user must use the up intensity button to resetback to the desired level.
