I would definitely use TENS again & recommend it to others

Published by under Birth stories

I found Labour TENS excellent in early labour then a great distraction as contractions got stronger. I used it for the whole labour and would definitely use it again, and recommend it to others.  I found it more useful than gas & air, and found it worked very well in conjunction with pethidine.

I would highly recommend TENS to pregnant women for pain relief in labour

Published by under Birth stories

At first upon hearing about TENS I was sceptical about it’s effectiveness, as I am a scientist.  I must say that upon using it during my labour, I am very impressed and would highly recommend it.  I was able to get through 2.5 hours of intense contractions at home with the aid of Labour TENS and only 2 Panadol.   I arrived at hospital to find I was 9cm dilated with no other pain relief. My beautiful baby was born after a 5 hour labour, with no other pain relief.

I would highly recommend it to pregnant women for pain relief in labour.

I would definitely recommend Labour TENS to my friends

Published by under Birth stories

I did not know what to expect to feel with TENS, but the best way to describe it would be a distraction for the mind. Every contraction felt more manageable with the boost button on, and I was even looking forward to the next one in anticipation of using the TENS.

I would definitely recommend Labour TENS to my friends, especially if they are considering a natural active birth.

Thank you

I could not have got through my labour without Labour TENS

Published by under Birth stories

I could not have got through my labour without Labour TENS. I used it as directed as early as possible and I believe that without it I would have resorted to drugs, which I really wanted to avoid. I had a difficult, long labour with no real progression, which eventually resulted in an emergency caesarian.  What was highlighted to me was how effective the TENS really was….. when I was forced to remove the TENS to be rushed to theatre…. for that period of 20 minutes or so  whilst being prepped for theatre, my contractions felt the most intense they had felt.

I plan to recommend the TENS to all my pregnant friends.

Didn’t need pethidine or an epidural… just the TENS

Published by under Birth stories

I have used Labour TENS for both of my labours, and found that I haven’t needed to use pethidine or have an epidural. Thank you also for the reminder email to return the machine….. was very helpful to be reminded in the hectic early days!!

I’d recommend to any woman to give a TENS machine a go whilst in labour

Published by under Birth stories

This was my third labour and the third time I’ve relied on a TENS machine to get me through – this type of pain relief works for me very well.

The labour ended up going for four hours and when it was all over I was astonished to see just how far I’d increased the power on the TENS machine.  It does work wonderfully well……  and I’d recommend to any woman to give a TENS machine a go whilst in labour.

I have used TENS machines with all 3 of my children’s births

Published by under Birth stories

I have used TENS machines with all 3 of my children’s births. With the previous two I hired a TENS machine from the hospital but it was unavailable this time. I think the Labour TENS was easier to use and must have been much more effective, as we didn’t make it to the hospital and baby was born in the kitchen!!  I used Labour TENS all the way through labour.  Stage 1 lasted around 6 hours, transition and stage 2 lasted 5 mins!!!

Many thanks Labour TENS

TENS machine was a lifesaver!!

Published by under Birth stories

This was my second child.  Angus was born 20 months earlier.

Angus was a 3 hour labour – so I knew this one was going to be quick also. I had used the TENS machine with Angus and found it very helpful. The nurses only had time to administer gas with him, so the TENS was the primary pain relief resource.

With baby Jack the labour time was halved. I had 4 or 5 contractions at home before my husband threw me in the car for the 30 minute trip to the hospital. We arrived at 6.50pm and I was fully dilated. I had to put the TENS machine on myself in the car – managing not to get caught up in the seat belt!! My doctor arrived just in time as Jack was born at 7.28pm. They didn’t even have time to get my paperwork done …. before Jack was ready to make his appearance! Obviously there was no time for gas or anything else. My husband took control of the TENS – upping & downing the controls as required. It was a huge help having him do it – plus it made him feel useful!!

I recommend the TENS machine to anyone who will listen…. for me it was a lifesaver!!

Cheers,

Renee, Vic
