“I think it was just as helpful psychologically as it was physically”

Published by under Birth stories

I used the Labour TENS machine from the established labour phase and didn’t really think I noticed a great deal of difference in the pain level, however I kept the TENS machine on right throughout the birth and there way no way I could have been convinced to stop using it to try another method such as a water bath. So I think it was just as helpful psychologically as it was physically.

“Labour TENS was fantastic and helped greatly during the birth of our daughter”

Published by under Birth stories

The Labour TENS was extremely helpful during labour and delivery of our first baby. I put it on 2pm at home when regular contractions were established, and stayed confidently at home until 5:30pm. When we arrived at hospital I was already dilated 6cms, I continued to use the Labour TENS and was able to stay active until 8pm.

I only stopped using the Labour TENS when I took a shower, and then used Gas & Air pain relief. By 8:30pm I was fully dilated and our daughter arrived an hour later.

Labour TENS was fantastic and helped greatly during the birth of our daughter. I have told many friends about it, and all were impressed with the assistance it gave me. A number of expectant friends are now planning to hire a Labour TENS for their own births.

“I‘d highly recommend hiring a Labour TENS machine to anyone who’d like to manage their labour with minimal pain relief”

Published by under Birth stories

I used the Labour TENS machine for about an hour at home, and then delivered my daughter naturally 55minutes after arriving at hospital. It made a huge difference to my labour compared to the arrival of our first daughter. Even though I’d hired a TENS machine for that delivery, I’d been in the bath for most of my labour so couldn’t use it. I‘d highly recommend hiring a Labour TENS machine to anyone who’d like to manage their labour with minimal pain relief.

“The Labour TENS was literally a life saver”

Published by under Birth stories

I had a 3hr labour with 1/2 an hour of that spent driving to the hospital, and I am so grateful that I had the Labour TENS machine for that! I had it on boost the whole way there, not knowing that by the time I got there I only had 25 minutes to go. The Labour TENS was literally a life saver, thank you so much!

I used Labour TENS for both my labours and it got me through both!

Published by under Birth stories

I originally read about Labour TENS in a Pregnancy & Birth magazine, I used it for both my labours and it got me through them both. In the first labour I had no other pain relief, in my second labour I used gas & air for the birth but only TENS for the labour itself.

“I found the Labour TENS machine fantastic!”

Published by under Birth stories

I found the Labour TENS machine fantastic! I had a 30hr labour, only to have an emergency caesarean at the end, but for pretty much all of my labour I used the Labour TENS machine as my only pain relief .

I have now recommended Labour TENS to a few friends that are also due soon. I will definitely use the machine for my other labours when they come around.

“I found the Labour TENS machine an amazing relief”

Published by under Birth stories

After enduring two labours with terrible back pain in contractions I was terrified to go through the agony again. I found the Labour TENS machine an amazing relief as the pads were placed in the exact spot where I was most affected. I used it the whole was though labour and only needed a short time with gas and air! I would recommend it to anyone in labour!

I’m so glad I tried Labour TENS as a first timer… I’d recommend it to everyone!!

Published by under Birth stories

The Labour TENS machine helped me through several nights of prelabour contractions, meaning I could sleep in between them as I was more relaxed. I didn’t think it would be as good as it turned out to be and am so glad I tried Labour TENS as a first timer… I’d recommend it to everyone!!

Natural birth has lead to a much calmer baby

Published by under Birth stories

Labour TENS was recommended to me by the Midwives at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Randwick. After having to be induced, due to high blood pressure my contractions came on very strong with barely a break between. Although my labour was very short (1st stage = 3 hrs; 2nd stage = 1 hr…… first baby!) it was very intense and I found the TENS machine was brilliant for focusing my mind on the tingling sensation rather than the contractions. I started at a low setting and eventually reached 30 and it was comforting to know that I still had further to turn it up if I had wanted to.  I would definitely recommend the use of the TENS machine to anyone else as a way to effectively manage labour contractions along with calm breathing. I managed the whole labour without any pain relief or medications and found that I did not even think about their use due to the TENS machine. I was pleased to be able to have the experience of a natural birth and firmly believe that my daughter is a much calmer baby because of this.

Thank you TENS!!!
